In view of shortage of teachers in Haryana schools, the state government has decided to re-engage retired teachers in government schools, which would help in providing quality education to students.
For this, Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, PK Das on Wednesday also launched a portal “dsehry.in/RE/” developed by School Education Department for engagement of retired teachers.

Das said that strenuous effort were being made to fill up teachers' vacancies in various categories through regular recruitment yet there is shortage of about 22,000 teachers including 15,000 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and 7,000 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs).
He expressed hope that about 5,000 retired teaches would be engaged through the portal.
Giving details about the portal, the official said that it would make the engagement process of retired teachers easy, transparent and hassle-free. The retired teachers below the age of 65 years from Haryana government, other state government and privately managed schools required to register themselves on the portal, and fill up their choices of schools in order of merit in the district of their choice.
The vacancy position would be displayed on the portal so as to enable them to get the present status of vacancies. This would help to make available a panel of retired teachers thus making available teachers throughout the year.
Das further stated that retired teachers would be given remuneration according to the state government's re-employment policy. He said that the department would soon start the online process for transfer of teachers.
