Haryana Police enhances capacity with 27 new dogs in squad
The squad’s strength has been increased from 36 to 63 trained dogs, each equipped with advanced training to aid in solving crimes and catching criminals.
Police Department said that arrested accused was identified as Sonu, a resident of Kishanpur village.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has seized 131 kilogram (kg) ganja and over nine kg sulfa worth millions of rupees being smuggled in a car in Rewari district. Police also arrested a person in this connection.
While stating this on Tuesday, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused was identified as Sonu, a resident of Kishanpur village, Samastipur district in Bihar.
However, one of the accused managed to escape from the spot. The absconding accused has been identified. Raids are being conducted and he will be arrested very soon.

Divulging the details, he said that on getting specific inputs about smuggling of narcotics, CIA team immediately swung into action. When the team signalled a Corolla car, bearing Delhi registration number, to stop for checking at a barricade near Garhi village, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape.
Police chased the vehicle, stopped it at a short distance, and arrested one accused while the other managed to escape. On checking the vehicle, 131 kg ganja and 9 kg 100 grams of sulfa recovered from the vehicle, the spokesman said.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that they brought seized contraband for supply in Rewari.
A case under the provisions of NDPS Act had been registered. The arrested accused was presented before the court, which sent him in one day police remand. Police is quizzing him to find out his contacts in the districts.
