The Gujarat Congress is working on a strategy to craft a strong election manifesto for the party in the state where it is emerging as a strong challenge for the incumbent BJP government.

The agenda of the trip is to meet traders, women, businessmen, farmers and youth and discuss with them the party’s agenda for governance. The party through this exercise is bringing together and meeting representatives of various committees to understand issues faced by people and work around them, thus strengthening its grass root machinery and attracting voters by including their needs in its election manifesto.
The demonetisation drive has deeply affected the farmers and the recent GST implementation has affected traders terribly. The Congress plans to keep its discussions around these two major areas to draw the maximum crowd. The Patidar Reservation demand will also be a part of their discussions. The other aspects they plan to cover are unemployment among the youth, the quota for the Economically Backward classes, homes for the homeless and loan waiver for the farmers.
