Haryana’s principal Opposition party, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has announced to go for legal action against Goa minister, Vijai Sardesai, who recently allegedly remarked that north Indians were trying to convert Goa into Haryana.
While addressing a Press conference, the INLD state president Ashok Arora said for registration of first information report (FIR) against Sardesai, they would file complaints with the Haryana police and the INLD would also move the court for legal action against the Goa minister for his scathing remark about the state of Haryana.
Arora also said Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar should meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ask him to sack the minister who has insulted the state of Haryana. Notably, Goa town and country planning minister Sardesai on Friday kicked a controversy when he described majority domestic tourists as “scum” and said north Indians wanted “Haryana in Goa.”
Sardesai also added north Indian tourists were not bothered about Goa and wanted to recreate a Haryana in Goa. The statement turned into a political controversy with leaders of political parties in Haryana strongly objecting to the comments and seeking Sardesai’s dismissal.
The Congress media in-charge and Haryana legislator Randeep Singh Surjewala said Haryana CM Khattar should either demand Sardesai’s resignation or accept that he was unable to protect the rights of his state.
