The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) issued fresh summons to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, and the AAP said on Wednesday that the notices were being studied by their legal team and decision will be taken in accordance with the law regarding the same.

Speaking to the media, AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said the previous four summons that had been issued in the name of Arvind Kejriwal so far were illegal, and now they have received information with regard to the fifth summons, the same will be studied and whatever is right as per law, will be done accordingly.

This is the fifth time, the ED has sent a notice to the Delhi CM asking him to join investigation in connection with the liquor policy case, and asked him to appear before the agency at their main office in Delhi on Friday, February 2.

So far, Kejriwal has skipped the summons by the ED four times — on November 2, December 21, January 3 and January 18.

The Delhi CM had given written responses to the previous summons by the federal probe agency.

He had earlier termed the summons unsustainable in law and politically motivated, and also questioned the basis of the notices, calling them non- specific and asked ”in which capacity was he being summoned by the ED in the case”.
