19 foreign nationals, 23 Indian agents held this year for passport fraud: Police
As per the data released by IGIA police, total 19 foreign nationals caught included 12 from Bangladesh, three each from Myanmar, Nepal and one from Afghanistan.
The Bondhamunda police have arrested a fraudster who had swindled several unemployed youths. The arrested person had collected money from them saying that he would provide them jobs in National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
Anil Nayak, 25, a resident of a slum just behind the Ispat Hospital Colony, Sector- 19, was today arrested by Bondhamunda police. The arrest was made following complaints of a few boys, who were cheated by him.

Anil had promised them job in NIT Rourkela, and had collected Rs. 10,000 from them. Later, he handed them the letter of appointment, which turned out to be fake. The boys knew about it when they reported at NIT Rourkela for joining.

“They had come to us but we told them that the letters were fake,” said an insider in NIT Rourkela, who did not want to be named. Following this the cheated youths, who belonged to Bondhamunda area, immediately filed an FIR with the police there.
“I was shocked to find this because I had been to NIT with high hope of working in the office as a clerk,” said Uttam Das, one of the victims. Soon more youths belonging to Bondhamunda, which just at the back of the NIT Rourkela, reported to the police about the said fraud.
Fortunately, the youths had the address of Anil and the Bondhamunda police arrested him today. IIC Bondhamunda Susant Das said, “we made the arrest on the complaints of the boys who were cheated by Anil.”
The youths, who have been cheated belongs mostly to Bisra, Bondhamunda, Badgaon and Sector area. “ So far we have information about 25 persons, but this may go up, as this is the early days of investigation,” said the IIC. The police were yet to recover the cash from him.
