A former district campaigner (zila pracharak) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was arrested by the police and produced in the court on Sunday on charges of maligning the image of the Sangh.
Jabar Singh, the zila pracharak, was recently expelled from the RSS for alleged anti-organisation activities. He was sent to judicial custody after being produced before the court on Sunday, told SP (city) Ranvijay Singh adding that he was arrested on the complaint of an RSS Leader Vinod Kumar.
The FIR was lodged at the Civil Lines police station after which the action was initiated. The Cyber Crime Cell recovered a Facebook live video which was posted on September 19, informed the SP.
Singh was seen using objectionable language against organisation’s leaders in the video. He is said to be maligning the image of the organisation intentionally as he was expelled from the RSS a few weeks back.
During his interrogation, Singh admitted to the charges and said that he was upset after being fired from RSS a few weeks back and out of his frustration he posted the video on social media.
He was arrested from Partapur locality where he had been residing.
