Exit poll results for the Assembly Elections in five states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, will be announced on Thursday evening after the Election Commission (EC) extended the ban on exit polls 2017 by a day to March 9, following the death of two candidates.
"Conducting of exit poll and disseminating result of any exit poll now stands prohibited till 5.30 pm of March 9, 2017," said the poll panel.

Meanwhile, voting for Uttarakhand’s Karnaprayag assembly seat in Chamoli district took place on Thursday and a voter turnout of 25.4 per cent was recorded till 11 am.
The polling in Uttarakhand’s Karnaprayag assembly seat that was scheduled to take place on February 15, but was postponed following the death of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Kuldeep Singh Kanwasi in a road accident on February 12.
Braving heavy showers and poor road transport, a total of 159 polling parties were send off to their polling stations respectively.
The election results for all the states will be announced on Saturday.
