Death audit of road accident fatalities compulsory in Bengal
Death Audits in case of fatalities in road transport accidents (RTAs) will be compulsory in West Bengal, as per the latest order from the state Health Department.
Five persons have been arrested in connection with molestation incident in Kolkata’s Kesthopur locality. Bidhannagar Police, under whose jurisdiction the area comes, arrested the men on Thursday, 8 February, following a Facebook post which went viral.
According to reports, a friend of the woman wrote a post on Facebook drawing attention to the incident. The woman who was allegedly stacked and cat-called by the men was returning from her place of work at around 9.30 pm.

She reached Kesthopur road by crossing a foot-over bridge where the men drove before her in a car. As the woman tried to walk away, the men allegedly attempted to abduct her. The men fled after people in the locality heard her screams and came out of their homes.

Reports say that all five youths are in their 20s and that they were drunk at the time of the incident.
The foot-over bridge in the area is taken by hundreds of people who have to reach the VIP Road, the main arterial connection to all parts of Kolkata.
Keshtopur is a relatively cheaper locality adjacent to Salt Lake, a posh suburb of the city. Many IT companies have their offices around Keshtopur, which makes the locality a preferred one for young professionals.
