Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs minister Kishan Kapoor has directed all the field officers and officials of the State Civil Supplies Corporation to ensure regular distribution of ration to the consumers under public distribution system.
The minister was presiding over a meeting of the field officers and officials of Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Department and Civil Supplies Corporation on Wednesday. He directed the field officers for surprise checking of the fair price shops, bulk distribution centers as well as the floor mills and maintaining daily register for the same.
The officers were directed to take regular samples of the wheat from every roller flour mill in the state.The minister also asked to place wooden crates in the bulk distribution centres so that wheat and other food grain could be saved form moisture.
He further directed to keep open the fair price shops on all the working days besides displaying important information on the notice board. He said the field officers should propagate government schemes among the people and they should attend Gram Sabha in the Panchayats so that the awareness could be created amongst the people about departmental schemes.
He also asked for surprise checking of petrol pumps and ensuring basic amenities like separate toilets for men and women and safe drinking water and also directed to organise a workshop for the members of the Vyapaar Mandals to make them aware about different schemes and applications of the department.He urged the consumers to call on toll free number 1967 for giving their suggestions and registering complaints.
