UP BJP appeals to ECI to change bypolls dates in view of Kartik Purnima
A delegation of the BJP met the state chief electoral officer here on Thursday to submit a letter to this effect.
Rajasthan students will be taught lessons on the election process under an Interactive School Engagement Programme on July 27, said Chief Election Officer, Ashwani Bhagat.
The programme is aimed at making the future voters aware of the election process and ensuring their participation in voting as they turn 18.
Bhagat said the programme will connect future voters, falling in the age category of 14-17 years, with the election process so that they get their names registered in the voters list as they turn eligible to vote.

All district election officers have been asked to have a direct communication with school students shortlisted for the programme.
In case the number of schools is more than the strength of the officials, teachers and lecturers will impart the training to the students.
The learning will take place via presentations, flashcards, computer games and short films including subjects like EVM.
Badges of “future voter of india” and brochures with content on how to register and vote will be distributed to them.
The first phase of this two-phase programme was organised on January 10 which produced amazing results, Bhagat said.
