West Bengal train accident: Death toll rises to 9, nearly 50 injured; several trains cancelled
According to initial assessment, the goods train overshot the signal and rammed into Kanchenjunga Express from behind.
At least eight trains were cancelled and over 69 delayed due to fog in northern India on Monday, officials said.
A Northern Railway official told IANS, “Eight trains have been cancelled and over 69 delayed due to fog in several parts of northern India.”
The official also said that it had to reschedule over 22 trains.

The cancelled trains include — New Delhi-Varanasi Mahamana Express, Delhi-Azamgarh Kaifiyat Express, Anand Vihar-Mau Express, Sriganganagar-Delhi Intercity, Delhi-Fazlika Intercity, Delhi-Alipurdwar Mahananda Express and Raxual-Delhi Sadbhawana Express.
The Rejandra Nagar Terminal-New Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express was delayed by over 24 hours while the Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Lichavi Express was delayed by over 25 hours.
While New Delhi-Malda Town Awadh Assam Express was running late by over 15 hours, Jaynagar-Delhi Shaheed Express was delayed by over 19 hours.
The New Delhi-Bhubaneshwar Rajdhani Express which was scheduled to depart at 5.05 p.m. was rescheduled to 7.30 p.m. while New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express which was scheduled to depart from New Delhi at 5.35 p.m. was rescheduled to 11 p.m. in night.
The railways also rescheduled Sampoorna Kranti Express from 5.25 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
