Uttar Pradesh: Double-murder accused, brother held after exchange of fire in Etawah
The double-murder accused received a gunshot wound, and was taken to the hospital for treatment by the police.
An irate mob lynched one person in sharp and quick retaliation to a murder that had occurred at Thelkopada this morning. The double murder , rocked the entire area prompting the police to rush in reinforcements.
Sujit Nag, a youth of Thelkopada was at a roadside tea stall close to the reserve police line. Nag’s rival Pandav Mukhi and six others reached the spot and attacked Sujit with sharp weapons.
The critically injured Sujit was rushed to the district headquarters hospital by the relatives where he breathed his last. Almost immediately, Sujit’s supporters gathered and a mob rushed to the house of Pandav.

They set it on fire as they could not find Pandav. The mob, they saw Pandav’s brother Shankar and targetted him. He died at the hospital.
There was palpable tension at the hospital and police force was deployed to avert further violence. People of both sides blocked roads demanding arrest of the accused.
It is pertinent to note that Pandav is a hardened criminal and was booked under NSA earlier. SP of Sambalpur, Sanjeev Arora said two people have been arrested and search is on for the others involved in the two murder cases.
