Doctor dies in Chandannagar
A medical practitioner Swati Dey (47), a resident of Hatkhola in Chandannagar died at SSKM hospital this morning.
Dengue fear gripped Ladugaon, a semi-urban and business center of Kalahandi district as 20 people were affected by the disease.
With several people complaining of fever and giddizness, the word spread that it could be dengue prompting a team of doctors led by the chief district medical officer to visit the area and collect blood samples.

Of the 14 samples, six tested dengue positive. Subsequently, 94 blood samples of persons having fever and symptom have been collected for test out of which in 14 samples positive reported.

Six medical teams were camping in the area and conducting a door to door survey. An additional doctor had been deputed to manage the local primary health care centre.
Locals said several patients had also moved to private hospitals in Visakhapatnam on their own. According to report at present there are more than 100 persons suffering from fever.
The CDMO Dr. Saroj Kumar Tihadi said, “field officials have been alerted, the stagnant water and clogged drains etc have been sprayed with disinfectants to kill mosquito larva and people are advised to keep the environment clean.”
