The caretaker of the plot, Jabbar, was consequently arrested and tunnel was sealed. “Primary investigation revealed that tunnel was 4 ft wide and 155 ft in length.

The officer informed that five months ago five men rented the plot to start a business of repairing cars. The business was a cover up as theit aim was to dig the tunnel, the officer felt. A small room built on the plot was the place from where they started digging the tunnel,” he said. The officer said that the arrested man confessed to stealing about 1,500 litres petrol every day. It took them two months to dig the deep tunnel.
