Mayor asks officials to ensure completion of projects MLALAD fund
Delhi Mayor Mahesh Kumar on Monday asked officials to ensure that all projects that are being undertaken under the MLALAD fund are completed at the earliest.
She said that the budget draft prepared by the MCD officials will be put up in the house by the Commissioner on Saturday
Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Friday said this time the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s budget will be finalised after taking inputs from the public.
Addressing a press conference, she informed that the Aam Aadmi Party will discuss the budget with the public and the stake holders such as the traders, RWAs, pradhans of the 360 urban villages across Delhi, the

councilors, and then will finally place the budget in front of the House next month.

Oberoi said due to the standing committee and ward committee not being in place in the House, this step is being taken as the AAP beiieves in public participation in such important decisions for them.
She said that the budget draft prepared by the MCD officials will be put up in the house by the Commissioner on Saturday, and then for coming two months the same would be discussed with public before being finally introduced to the house in the
month of January, which will be likely passed in March.
The AAP MCD leaders plan to hold 50 to 100 meetings during the two months time with the public including the market associations, youth, women, RWAs, unauthorised colonies, JJ clusters and the representatives from the rural areas.
Oberoi said that the AAP believes in the vision of community participation and the same will be implemented this time in preparation of the MCD budget.
The Mayor also shared and e- mail address with the public inviting feedback on the budget, which is “BudgetFeedback.MCD2425@gmail.” and further said that public can send in their suggestions to the same with regard to the budget, and added that the e- mail will be monitored continuously.
Talking of the suggestions on budget Deputy Mayor Aaley Muhammad Iqbal said that the coucilors will be present across all the 250 wards in the city for the two months exercise and as per Chief MInister Arvind Kejriwal the budget will not be a one that is imposed, but, will be made on public’s opinion.
He said that all the suggestions be it from opposition will be thought upon if they are in favour of MCD and for the
betterment of the city and its people.
