Delhi govt to soon launch Rs 1,000 monthly assistance for women
Kejriwal informed this while addressing a crowd during his Padyatra in Model Town and Timarpur.
North Delhi mayor Preety Agarwal(in photo) refuted various allegations levelled by Aam Aadmi Party against her at a press conference. She demanded that AAP either prove the allegations or apologise to her without delay. She threatened that if AAP did not apologise to her, she would file a defamation suit against AAP.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in party office, AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey claimed a senior official of the corporation had in a letter complained to the commissioner of the North civic body that the mayor had forcibly entered the room when government work was going on for a tender process involving a bidding party to try and influence her authority. He also alleged that the corporation paid bills for a party hosted for media persons by Preety Agarawal.
in her rejoinder, Aggarwal said: “I refute the allegations of Aam Aadmi Party that corporation paid bills for any media party hosted by me at a hotel.” She said, ” I am not so weak as to succumb to such baseless allegations.”

Reacting to the the allegation in bidding process, the Mayor said, “let AAP and concerned officials prove that I barged into the room and touched and influenced the tender documents.
I was on a inspection visit in the Civic Centre with a group of about 100 officials and a few councilors and by default entered the unlocked tender room. I immediately walked out of the room on being told that a tender was under way but the official later made it an issue fearing action on my complaint against him.”
The mayor stated that she was fighting corruption and had been writing to various senior agencies since May 2017 on suspected involvement of some officials but they had connived with AAP leaders to frame false charges against her.
She drawled to allege that AAP was an anti-woman party, claiming that Chief Minister Kejriwal did not allow representation to women in his party. She quipped that he was trying to malign her image to weaken women leadership in Delhi.
” Aam Aadmi Party does not allow women leadership to grow in its organisation or government and the vicious campaign launched against me is an attempt to stall development of women leadership in Delhi,” said the mayor.
