Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari has sent a letter to the mayors of the three BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs), urging them to ensure repair and sanitation work at all Chhath ghats and adjoining roads and areas along the banks of the Yamuna river in the national capital ahead of the Chhath Puja festival.
“Sanitation and repair work of the roads leading to these ghats and surrounding areas should be completed before the Chhath Puja,” Tiwari stated in his letter to the three mayors.

More than forty lakh devotees observe fast and do their worship to celebrate the Chhath Puja in Delhi, Tiwari stated.
To perform the Chhath Puja, many devotees reach Chhath ghats, Tiwari said. He added that all three mayors have been asked to initiate necessary repair and cleaning work at all Chhath ghats along the banks of the Yamuna river at the earliest.
The Delhi BJP chief also said that mayors were urged to ensure better arrangements at the ghats this year for Chhath devotees. He said he will himself take stock of the preparations made at Chhath ghats after Diwali.
Tiwari said the BJP workers have been instructed to render their voluntary help at these ghats and that party workers would set up shelters at night in various places of Delhi for Chhath devotees.
