Dragged by car in South West Delhi, two Traffic Police personnel badly injured
According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday evening at the Ber Sarai traffic light near Vedant Deshika Marg.
A man and his son died after two speeding cars collided and caught fire in South-East Delhi’s Jaitpur area on intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Deputy commissioner of police Chinmoy Biswal informed that the deceased Triloki Nath(55) and his son Vikas Tiwari(21) were returning from a wedding ceremony with six other family members when their car met with a collision in Meetapur around midnight.
He said a police patrol van on Agra Canal Road witnessed the accident and reached the spot. While the policemen and some local residents were trying to rescue the victims, suddenly both the cars burst into flames.

A team from Delhi Fire Service was rushed to the spot. It used gas cutters to rescue the people trapped inside the badly damaged vehicles. Police rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where Nath and his son Vikas were declared brought dead. Seven others were put under treatment. “Prima facie it appears both the cars were reportedly speeding and the impact of the crash killed the father-son duo,” Biswal said.
Statements of four injured persons were recorded, police said while disclosing that statements of three others could not be recorded as they suffered serious injuries and had been admittd to intensive care unit (ICU). They included another another son of the deceased and owner of the other car involved in the collision.
“We have registered a case under section 304A (Causing death by negligence), 337(Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 279(Rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are underway,” Biswal added.
