LoP Gupta writes to LG over pending CAG reports
In his letter addressed to the LG, he said despite persistent demands from the BJP, the AAP government has failed to convene a special assembly session to table these reports.
LG Saxena had earlier approved the filling up of 1,251 regular posts in the courts through Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) and the process for filling up the same is going on.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the engagement of 376 retired officials on contract basis against the vacant sanctioned posts in regular courts for a period of one year or till the posts are filled up.
Notably, Saxena had earlier approved the filling up of 1,251 regular posts in the courts through Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) and the process for filling up the same is going on.

Those to be recruited on contract basis include 112 for Personal Assistants, 254 Junior Judicial Assistant and 10 Peon/Orderly/Dak peon, the LG office said on Tuesday.

The Law Department of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) submitted that it received a letter dated 7th December, 2023 from the Office of Principal District and Sessions Judge (HQs), Delhi vide which it was informed that Direct recruitment process for the vacant posts is underway through DSSSB, it said.
However, the Law Department said since it was a time-taking process and the department was facing acute shortage of staff, therefore it has been requested to take the necessary approval and financial sanction for engagement of retired officials for the posts, ie Junior Judicial Assistant, Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon and Personal Assistant, (preferably 30 per cent of vacant posts) for one year or till the vacant posts are filled up (whichever is earlier), it added.
