Founder of India Vision Foundation, former Lieutenant Governor Dr Kiran Bedi, displayed her own brand of patriotism when she joined the school choir at Independence Day celebrations in Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi.
As chief guest at the function, she invited the audience to sing along ‘Himmat Watan Ki Humse Hai …’ with her, along with the students, at a special Assembly held at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, to commemorate the country’s 76th Independence Day.

The auditorium reverberated with patriotic fervour and the tricolour fluttered triumphantly as Dr Bedi set a wave of joy and jubilation amongst the audience. She asked students to embrace the ‘ABCD’ of freedom (Trust your Abilities, Set Boundaries, Have Consciousness and Do your Duty) for restructuring a new India. She urged the youth to redeem the pledges taken at ‘the stroke of midnight’ for a futuristic India full of hope and joy.
The presentations, which included self-composed poems, thought-provoking articles and a soul-stirring narrative by students, reflected upon the challenges that our nation faces.
Reminiscing the relentless efforts of countless heroes and visionaries who carved a great nation whose strength lies in diversity and multi culturalism, Dr Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales Schools, motivated the students to take upon their shoulders the task of building a modern India ‘where we can hold our heads high’.
