Injured in stoning, man dies in North Delhi hospital

An unidentifid man, aged about 30 years, died during treatment at a hospital, after his head was brutally crushed by bricks and stones in the North Delhi area.
The incident came to the fore on Friday morning, when information about the incident was passed to the Sarai Rohilla police station.
The police have shifted the dead body to the Subzi Mandi Mortuary for post-mortem. A case of murder has been registered by the police and investigation is on.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi), Sagar Singh Kalsi said that the information about the incident was received on December 09 at about 08.35 am, at Sarai Rohilla police station. The caller informed that an unconscious person having severe head injury is lying near Chowki No. 2 of Sindhora Kalan, Delhi.
Immediately a police team reached the spot and the injured was rushed to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where he died during the treatment. There were various injury marks on his face and head. Police have recovered some bricks and stones with blood of the deceased from the spot.
Efforts are being made to identify the deceased and also the police are probing the matter to nab the accused involved in the crime.
An official quoting the preliminary findings of the postmortem -- done by veterinarians of the medical board in Ranthambore on Monday-- said "The post-mortem revealed that the tiger was killed by a mob of villagers."
The deceased were identified as Atul Rai (45), who worked on the same premises, and Nand Kishore (65), a rickshaw puller. They were asleep in a room on the godown’s terrace when the incident occurred, a Delhi police official said.
