A 90-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her 30-year-old grandson in Delhi’s Rohini’s Prem Nagar area on Tuesday.
According to a police official, the incident occurred when the grandson of the deceased, who has been identified as Raisa, Shahrukh had a scuffle with his father. As the lady tried to intervene, she was hit hard by the accused leading her to collapse and eventual death.
A case of murder has been registered in the local police station and the accused, Shahrukh, has been arrested by the police.

According to a senior police official, on Sunday, a police control room (PCR) received a call at the Prem Nagar police station informing about the murder. A police team was soon dispatched to the house of the deceased which collected samples from the spot.
“On reaching the spot, the crime team found Raisa lying dead in a room. The team collected exhibits from the spot. No external injury was found on the body of the deceased,” said DCP (Rohini) Guriqbal Sidhu.
The dead body was preserved at the mortuary of SGM Hospital. On the basis of the statement given by Raisa’s son, Afroj and ‘after the opinion of the doctors’ autopsy, a case under section 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and Shahrukh has been arrested in the matter,” said the official.
The accused, Shahrukh, is a painter, who works on contract basis.
“Prima facie there was a fight between the father and his son and the elderly woman tried to intervene. As a result, the grandson hit the old woman causing her to collapse on the floor,” said a senior police officer.
