After days of a dry spell, parts of Delhi, Gurugram and National Capital Region (NCR) were lashed by heavy rains in the afternoon bringing the minimum temperature down to 27.2 degrees Celsius.
Rains battered several parts of Delhi, including India Gate, Okhla, GTB Nagar, Burari, Model Town, Mukherjee Nagar, Azadpur, Timarpur, Civil Lines.
Some areas in Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Gurugram also received rainfall and lightning.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius. According to the Skymet Weather, Delhi-NCR is likely to record scattered rains and thundershowers between 11 August and 13 August.
August is the rainiest month for Delhi-NCR, with normal average rains of 232.5 mm. Till 10 August, Delhi has only recorded mere 10 mm of rain.
