Delhi police tracks 311 missing children this year
Operation Milap is an initiative of the city police to unite the missing and kidnapped children with their families
The accused is said to be the son of a Delhi Police personnel and uses his father’s cap and other seized items. However, the police are probing the matter to ascertain the facts about his father and family.
Sumit Sharma (35), who used to extort money from sex-workers at GB Road by impersonating as a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector (SI), has been nabbed by the real police after ahot pursuit.
A Delhi Police cap and police logo has been recovered from the accused. Apart from this, two Delhi Police files, Delhi Police visiting card in the name of SI Lokesh along with old police files documents and mobile phone have also been recovered from the car of the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Delhi said that on January 1, at about 11.45 PM, the police team of Kamala Market received information from Kotha number-50, GB Road that one person, wearing Delhi Police winter cap is extorting money from them.

On the information, Head-Constable Sita Ram at once reached the spot and traced the impersonator, wearing Delhi Police cap with Delhi Police logo.
When asked to show his Identity-Card, he said that his I-Card was in his car, and on the way the impersonator started behaving, as if they had a posting together in Shahdara District. Meanwhile, he dodges the cop and flees away in the narrow lanes behind GB Road.
Further, at around 12.21 am and 12.33 am, the accused made two fake PCR calls from his mobile number against HC Sita Ram.
A police team started searching for him through CCTV footage, and found him with his car in the footage. Finally with the help of CCTV and mobile location, the impersonator was apprehended from Ghaziabad, UP.
