The major arms haul comes just days before the Independence Day. Police said that they have arrested Mohammad Azim and Aas Mohammad after two carbines, 50 pistols and 50 cartridges were recovered from their possession.
While Azim is a resident of Malda in West Bengal, Aas is from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh.

Raids are being conducted across the national capital to nab those who ordered the consignment. Police are investigating a possible terror angle.
Security across the country has been beefed up ahead of independence Day on 15 August.
