The Delhi Police on Wednesday said that it has put in place fail proof arrangements in view of the Republic Day to ensure that the national festival is celebrated in a flawless manner.

Addressing the media here, Delhi Police Special Commissioner for Security Deependra Pathak said the Delhi Police is at professional readiness right from felicitation to handling any kind of situation.

He said that according to the Delhi Police’s track record, the force has always put in place and used best technology in view of enhancing security and the preparation.

The police official said that special arrangements have been made to ensure aerial security and measures will be effective to thwart any kind of aerial threats based on the threat perception.

Delhi Police is coordinating with the multiple central agencies on a real- time basis in terms of any threat or inputs and is not leaving any information un- attended.

The coordination with multiple agencies has been done effectively to make sure the national festival celebrations carry on smoothly.

Around 14000 police personnel have been deployed for the parade arrangements in different roles and to ensure the safety of the event venue considering the large number of expected dignitaries and public for the R- Day parade on Kartavya Path.

Entire Delhi and NCR is under focus, and all ranks will be in duty and have been briefed in view of the occasion.

Commandoes , Quick Response Teams (QRTs), Anti- sabotage teams and Special Cell’s SWAT( Special Weapons and Tactics) unit will be stationed strategically

With the overall sensitivity levels a little up this time, after the January 22, the Delhi Police have kept the interstate coordination in view of maintaining law and order.

The police official said that all arrangements have been made considering wildest possibility.

Keeping in view everything we have put in place a fail proof law and order security arrangements.

CCTVs and with foot soldier deployment, everything has been put in place in view of surveillance at and around the Kartavya path, the police said.

Police also appealed to the people coming to witness the parade at the Kartavya Path to be on time as the police will try to make people seated by 8.30 a.am. at the respective enclosures.

The police official also urged people to follow all the guidelines and not carry extra stuff or bags etc, in view of making a hassle free atmosphere and also cooperate with the police personnel during the checking and frisking and the entry points.

The police said that Delhi’s borders will be sealed 10 pm onwards on January 25 night and Light Good Vehicles, Heavy Transport Vehicles will be barred from entering Delhi.

Parking of vehicles will not be allowed at the New Delhi, Nizamuddin and the Anand Vihar Railway stations from 2000 hours onwards on January 25 and up to 1200 hours on January 26.

This time the New Delhi district have made elaborate security arrangements security arrangements, with CCTVs in appropriate numbers with cutting edge technology that will be used as force multiplier.

Apart from security, police have also made several arrangements for people’s facilities at the venue that include missing persons booth, first aid posts, mobile toilets, and sufficient number of ambulances will also be on standby, as a large number of people are expected to come and witness the parade.

Car key booths have been made to submit the keys and take it back after the event.

Last, but not the least, the police have urged the people to be a little patient at the time of leaving the venue after the parade is over so that overall congestion can be avoided and everyone can leave the venue, being at ease.

Meanwhile, police have made multiple control rooms which will be manned with personnel to observe the CCTV for keeping an eye on every suspicious activity as the event takes place.

Over a week ago, the Delhi Police chief Sanjay Arora chaired a cooperation meeting among the law enforcement agencies (LEA) ahead of the Republic Day at the Delhi Police Headquarters.

The inter-state coordination meeting was attended by officers from different states who shared intelligence inputs on terror and the anti-terror measures in place like checks on the borders, verifications of suspicious elements, and other initiatives.
