Speaking to the students about their preparations for the upcoming exams at three Delhi government schools, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said here on Wednesday that they no longer are dependent on books for learning as schools are giving them opportunities to explore concepts in innovative ways.

He added that now the government and Delhi government school students have started dreaming big because students here now have all the facilities like any world-class school.

Manish Sisodia inspected SKV Sector 16 Rohini, Dr BR Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence Rohini Sector 17 and SKV Prahladpur on the visit and interacted with the students and attended the Happiness Class.

While interacting with the students, he said, “Due to the hard work of team education of Delhi and committed leadership towards education, now the meaning of learning has completely changed in Delhi government schools.”

Sharing their experiences with the deputy chief minister, students of SoSE Rohini Sector 17 said by studying and learning from the Indian Constitution they have written the constitutions for their respective families.

According to them, this will ensure the rights and duties of all the family members. Along with this, students have formed a Constitution Assembly in the school itself to learn about the Constitution, so that instead of rote learning, they can understand every aspect in detail.

Students also said that now they follow research-oriented methods to understand the concepts better. They are not dependent on only books anymore to understand the concepts.

Sisodia said, “It is heartening to see that children studying in our schools are not only understanding policies through innovative methods at such a young age but also formulating them. This shows that our children’s education is not limited to schools only, but they are also learning from the environment around them.”

“They are analysing the problems around them, and are finding solutions for them. With their consistent hard work, these children will become the policymakers of the country in the future,” he said.

The deputy chief minister also attended the Happiness classes with the students and participated in various mindfulness activities with them.
