At a meeting of the MCD on Monday, BJP councilor from Krishna Nagar Sandeep Kapoor will bring a private resolution against the high fees being levied by the civic body on shop boards during, the Delhi BJP said.

Highlighting the problem arising from stray animals, Opposition leader in the MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh will raise the issue of a man’s death in Khanpur after being attacked by a stray cow, demanding action against concerned officials and compensation for the grieved family.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, on Sunday, accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led MCD of consistently harassing city’s traders while raising the issue of the menace of stray animals on the city roads that is troubling the citizens.

He said before coming to power in the municipal corporation, AAP leaders had issued a ten-point guarantee card, assuring relief to Delhi’s citizens and traders, but a year later it is evident that instead of relief, the municipal corporation is oppressing traders, he claimed.

The Delhi BJP leader further alleged that in the year 2021-22, AAP leader and party’s municipal in-charge Durgesh Pathak had given reassuring assurances to Delhi’s traders on various issues, including sanitation fees, but after coming to power, city’s traders are troubled by thousands of notices.

The Delhi BJP also pointed out that Delhiites are dismayed by the failure of the civic body in taking action against the menace of stray dogs and monkeys, and mentioned about the tragic death of a man three days ago, who was mauled to death by a stray cow.

Kapoor said of late, in the name of increasing municipal revenue, the MCD is distributing notices for sanitation fees, shop boards charges and trade licenses fee in every market of Delhi causing distress to the traders.
