Delhi: 2 burglars nabbed with a country made gun

The Delhi Police have arrested two burglars along with a country made gun, a live cartridge and a button actuated knife, who were on the run in connection with a burglary in Dwarka district, the police said on Saturday.

The burglary took place on January 21 and the burglars were on the run. They have been identified as Arshad and Zakir, both residents of Seemapuri.

On Friday, on the inputs received by the police, ‘Crack Team’ of Seemapuri police station came into action and intercepted a car near the graveyard road in the area which was suspected to be used during the commission of the crime.

The vehicle was signaled to stop over suspicion, and later during frisking of the suspects, one country made pistol and a live cartridge was recovered from Arshad and one illegal button actuated knife was recovered from Zakir.

Later, during sustained interrogation, it was found that Arshad was previously involved in 26 other cases and Zakir had previous involvements in 6 cases and also was a bad character of Police Station Seemapuri, the police said.

A case under appropriate sections of law was registered in this connection, the police added.

Further investigation was underway in the case and their links were also being verified, the police said further.
