Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Somnath Bharti has asked the officials concerned to resolve the sewerage related issues of Patparganj area in the national capital within a week.
He also directed the officials to ensure that the sewerage related problems are resolved on an immediate basis.
Bharti’s order to the officials of DJB came during a review meeting with them after he visited Patparganj and inspected the sewerage system of the area. The DJB has been receiving complaints from the locals about sewer jam problems in the Patparganj area.
During his visit on Wednesday, the DJB vice-chairman had a thorough inspection. He said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was concerned about the problems of the people of Delhi 24 hours a day.
“The office of the local MLA and former Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia is constantly in touch regarding the sewer and water related issues of the area and from the month of January when the number of problems suddenly increased, the local MLA’s office was contacted and today’s visit was organised,” Bharti said.
He said he has come to see the situation in Patparganj on the instructions of the Chief Minister.
“Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has clear instructions that sewerage related complaints should be resolved within 24 hours. However, some problems in the Patparganj area have been pending for many days,” Bharti said as he expressed his displeasure over them.
