Delhi police foil extortion plan after arrest of two gang members
With the arrest of two gang members of the Kapil Sangwan gang, the special cell of Delhi Police have foiled an extortion plan of the gang, it said on Sunday.
Hailing from Punjab, Tirath Ram, 50, and Naveen Kumar, 25, were arrested on September 16 from central Delhi.
An interstate gang of auto-lifters has been busted with the arrest of two criminals, police said here on Tuesday. Eleven luxury cars stolen by them were also recovered from them.

Additional Commissioner of Police Rajiv Ranjan said a man from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh used to steal high-end cars on Ram’s demand and hand him over along with documents of cars abandoned after accidents.

“After that, Ram and (his ally) Kumar would sell the stolen cars in open markets of Punjab, and Haryana on the strength of documents,” the officer said.
