Delhi: Schools running in general, morning shift to remain closed on Jan 22
However, the schools running in the evening shift will remain open.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has approved the half-day closing (till 2.30 pm) of all Delhi Government offices, urban local bodies, autonomous bodies, undertakings and boards on January 22 on account of Ram Lala Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya, the LG’s office said.
All offices of the Delhi government will remain closed for half a day on January 22 on account of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

“On the occasion of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya, being celebrated on 22nd January, 2024 across India, DOPT, GOI vide its OM F.No. 12/7/2023-JCA dated 18.01.2024 closed all the Central government offices and establishments for half day to enable employees to participate in the celebrations,” an office memorandum said.

“Lt. Governor, of National Capital Territory of Delhi, is pleased to declare half day closing till 14:30 Hrs on 22nd January 2024 in all the Delhi Government Offices/ Autonomous Bodies/ Boards/ Corporations/ Local Bodies/ PSUs under Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi to enable employees to participate in the celebrations,” the memorandum said.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had sent the proposal for half-day closure to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, the CM office’s officials said.
The Centre on Thursday announced that all central government offices will be closed for half-day on January 22 for the ‘Pran Patishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
As per the notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, all Central Government offices, Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments across the country shall remain closed for half a day till 2.30 pm.
“The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on January 22, 2024, across India. To enable employees in the celebrations, it has been decided that all Central Government Offices, Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments throughout India will be closed for half a day till 14:30 hours on January 22, 2024,” the notification read.
Various activities have been planned by organizations and groups of people across India and abroad to coincide with the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya.
The ‘Pran Pratishta’ ceremony will be held in Ayodhya on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several other leaders will attend the event. Several celebrities and noted personalities have also been invited to the ceremony.
The Prime Minister will perform rituals to mark the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the idol of Ram Lalla at the grand temple on January 22.
A team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit will perform the main rituals of the ‘Pran Prathistha’ of Ram Lalla on January 22.
Various activities have been planned by organisations and groups of people across India and abroad to coincide with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya.
