Dense fog covers Delhi as it shivers at 7.6 deg C
A thick layer of fog engulfed the national capital on Wednesday as it woke to a chilly morning with the weather department recording the minimum temperature at 7.6 degrees Celsius.
After 23-year-old photographer was murdered in west-Delhi’s Khyala area by a family belonging to a minority community on Thursday ( 1 February), reports of heightened tensions in the area are surfacing.
The professional photographer was stabbed to death allegedly by the family members of his girlfriend in west Delhi’s Khyala, police said.

Security have been tightened in the area and additional police force have been deployed due to sensitivity of the issue, said police.

As per reports, police had also deployed a commando unit. At every corner, BSF personnel were posted at strategic pickets near the house of the woman’s family, the funeral site and around Saxena’s house. Following the murder on Thursday, local residents had nabbed woman’s uncle and beat him up, while her father, mother and brother fled. Eyewitnesses said police reached the scene of the crime at least thirty minutes later.
The man was in a relationship with the 20-year-old woman living in his neighbourhood for the past two-three years.
The woman’s family was against their relationship. On Thursday, an argument broke out between the two families. During the argument, the woman’s father, mother, uncle and a minor brother caught hold of the man and stabbed him in the neck, the police said.
He was taken to a hospital by his parents where he died. Police have arrested the woman’s father, mother and uncle.
