The Delhi unit of BJP on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for not announcing the names of women candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Delhi BJP General Secretary Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Mahila Morcha President Richa Pandey Mishra said, “Denial of an appropriate representation to women in the Lok Sabha polls has once again exposed the anti-women mindset of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.”

The BJP leaders pointed out that today, while on the one hand, the country has a visionary leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is trying to ensure qualitative representation of women in administrative matters of the country, on the other, we have men like Kejriwal who are out to deny the women their rights.

“From 2015 to 2023, Arvind Kejriwal denied participation to women in his government in Delhi, and was forced to include a woman minister under the political pressure of his jailed colleague Manish Sisodia who insisted on the inclusion of his protégé Atishi,” they said here.

The Delhi BJP leaders further said, “Women of Delhi will not forgive Arvind Kejriwal for denying representation to women and teach him a lesson in ensuing Lok Sabha elections.”

Earlier this week, the AAP announced the names of five candidates for the upcoming general elections under the Opposition INDIA bloc. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the AAP will contest from four parliamentary constituencies and Congress in three seats.

As per the announcement made by the AAP, Kuldeep Kumar will contest from the East Delhi constituency, Somnath Bharti from New Delhi, Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi, and Sahiram Pehalwan from South Delhi while Sushil Gupta will contest from Haryana’s Kurukshetra.
