“I believe that the decision taken by the Supreme Court will bring transparency in the elections,” said party leader and Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai.
Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict on Electoral Bonds, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said it would bring transparency in elections.
Reacting to the judgment on pleas challenging the validity of the Electoral Bonds Scheme, Delhi environment minister and senior AAP leader Gopal Rai said, “I believe that the decision taken by the Supreme Court will bring transparency in the elections.”
Attacking the BJP-led government at the Centre, Rai said, “For a long time, the question was being raised that the Central government is influencing people in some way or the other through electoral bonds.”

Echoing similar sentiments, the senior AAP leader and Delhi Education Minister Atishi said it is very important for democracy to have transparency as to who is donating to which political party.“It is a matter of happiness that the Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission India (ECI) to immediately tell from where and how many electoral bonds were received by which party,” she added.
The minister further said that every citizen has the right to know that the party which is in government at the Centre or in the state takes decisions for the voters or for those who give funds.
