A delegation, led by VHP’s Delhi working president Alok Kumar, on Tuesday, also met Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, demanding the arrest of those involved in allegedly vandalising a temple in the Hauz Qazi area.

A quarrel had broken out on Sunday night in the area over a minor parking issue which soon snowballed into a fight between two groups of different communities, which sparked communal tension in the area.

Massive police contingents have been deployed there to maintain calm and to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. Police have taken control of the area in their bid to ensure peace and harmony. They are reportedly trying to restore normalcy through strict vigil and holding meetings with local residents.
