NHRC shoots off notice to TN govt over death of 2 labourers
The Commission observed that the contents of the media report, if true, indicate gross negligence on the part of the electricity department resulting in the death of two labourers.
A 52-year-old orthopedic MD of a prestigious hospital was cheated of Rs 40 lakh after he was honey trapped by an African national woman whom he befriended on Facebook last year.
“Over a period of three months, the woman who created a Facebook profile in the name of Sandra Cage, duped the senior doctor of Rs 36.95 lakh,” said a senior police officer.

Following a complaint filed by the doctor at Farsh Bazaar police station, Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested three African nationals, including a 36-year-old woman, and claimed to have busted a syndicate which has been duping several innocent people since 2015.

Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shahdara said, “The arrested accused have been identified as Oluwole Celestine, Kelechi Kenneth and Sonia,”
Police said that the suspect had earlier allegedly cheated an Andhra Pradesh farmer in 2015 in a similar manner.
