Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress president Akshay Lakra said, “The statement made by the BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is totally unacceptable. The BJP and Sangh have always been anti-women.”
Lakra said the people of Delhi and Kalka Assembly constituency will not forgive him in the upcoming polls.
“Ramesh Bidhuri should apologise for his shameful remarks. We will continue our protest until he apologises for his remarks,” he said.
Notably, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the Congress students’ wing, also staged a nationwide protest on Monday, calling for immediate action against Bidhuri.
“The statement given by Ramesh Bidhuri shows the real culture of the RSS and BJP. Leaders like him should be banned from contesting elections. We demand that the BJP immediately withdraw his ticket and expel him from the party. Such behavior is unacceptable in a democratic society,” said NSUI national president Varun Choudhary.
In Delhi, the protest was led by NSUI Delhi chief Ashish Lamba at Delhi University’s Art Faculty.
