Several members of the BJP’s ‘Mandir Prakoshth’ (temple cell) on Wednesday switched to the AAP’s ‘Sanatan Seva Samiti’ after being inspired by the announcement of Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana by the ruling party in the national capital ahead of assembly polls.
Expressing his gratitude to the priests, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today, I consider myself extremely fortunate that our platform is graced by the presence of Jagatgurus, Mahamandaleshwars, and so many saints and spiritual leaders. I feel extremely fortunate and deeply believe that whatever happens is by the will of the Almighty. It is He who decides who should be chosen for which task. We are merely instruments in His hands.”

After the elections the ‘Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana’ will be implemented in Delhi as the guidance of all saints and devotees of Sanatan Dharma is vital for the party, he added.
Moreover, Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Inspired by Arvind Kejriwal’s Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana, these people have joined us. I believe that Lord Shri Ram and Hanuman have immense blessings on Arvind Kejriwal and he was chosen by God to begin giving monthly honorariums of Rs 18,000 to pujaris“.
Speaking on joining the AAP, Jitendra Sharma said, “Our sole objective when we began work with the ‘Mandir Prakoshth’ was to ensure that pujaris in Sanatan Dharma receive honorariums. For 75 years, pujaris lived in such conditions that they felt ashamed of their profession, questioning whether they should encourage their children to become pujaris. But when Arvind Kejriwal announced a monthly honorarium, it brought a ray of hope to us and showed us a future where we could proudly encourage our children to become pujaris.”
Similarly, Acharya Brijesh Sharma said, “There were many doubts about the scheme, but Arvind Kejriwal clearly said that as soon as our government is formed, this scheme will be implemented, so today the entire organization stands firmly with him”.
