As per the proposal in the house, the chief secretary will have to be present in person on the March 15 session to be called for the water and sewer issue, and present the progress report in this connection, AAP leader Dilip Pandey said.
Addressing a press conference here, Pandey on Saturday said that Delhi Assembly represents the 2 crore people of Delhi, and the legislators today put forward multiple problems arising from the DJB faced by the people of the city in front of the Speaker.
They informed the speaker and the house that several areas of the city were facing issues like water contamination, sewage overflow, and water supply problems.
Pandey further said that the MLAs conveyed to the speaker that time- to time they have informed officials and also shared complaints on the DJB portal and the helpline 1916.
He expressed disappointment, stating that despite repeated complaints, the DJB has not addressed the burning issues, and when the situation escalated beyond a point, the matter had to be raised in the assembly.
It was mentioned that complaints were continuously coming in regarding the overflow of sewers and water issues.
The house proposed to have a special session on the water and sewerage issue on March 15, and till then the CS will address the issues pertaining to the DJB.
