Two arrested for fuel pump shooting in East Delhi
The accused, identified as Abhishek Kumar alias Harshu and Vikrant alias Vicky, were apprehended with two sophisticated pistols and 22 live rounds in their possession.
Police have recovered weapons from their possession.
The Delhi Police have apprehended three wanted criminals in North East district following an exchange of fire, Deputy Commissioner of Police Joy Tirkey said on Tuesday.
On the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, responding to a secret input, the Special Staff team of the North East District Police, laid a trap near Ambedkar College, Jyoti nagar and intercepted the three criminals, who were wanted suspects in a murder and arms Act case registered on Sunday.
When the police asked them to surrender, they opened fire on the police team in a bid to escape, the DCP said, adding that around 13 rounds were fired by the accused. In response 13 rounds were fired by the police, following which the criminals sustained injuries on legs and were rushed to the hospital.

The police personnel also got a bullet on the bullet proof jacket, which saved his life in the firing.
The accused persons include Arif alias Khalid, who is a resident of Seelampur, Delhi, and has previous involvement in a case of theft registered at Welcome Police Station, while second person is Ali alias Fahad, who is from Jafrabad, previously involved in a robbery and Arms Act case and third one is Al Shehjaan alias Tota, who is also from Jafrabad with previous involvement in a firing case.
Police have recovered three sophisticated pistols from their possession along with ammunition.
All of them were rushed to GTB Hospital, where they are under treatment. A case under Sections of attempt to murder of the IPC and Arms Act is being registered against them, said the DCP.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining accused persons in the murder case.
