Curfew was imposed on Sunday in Pulwama as tension mounted in the valley due to the shutdown call of the separatists.
Vehicles of only essential services were being allowed to move out as the curfew was strictly enforced.
Separatists called for three days strike in protest of the death of seven people during yesterday’s encounter at Pulwama in which 3 terrorists and a soldier were killed.
Restrictions have also been imposed in six police station areas of Srinagar where the separatists, Syed Alishah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik organised a march towards the Badami Bagh Cantonment of the Army tomorrow.
Malik has reportedly gone underground, while the Mirwaiz has been put under house arrest.
A police officer said that the restrictions have been ordered as a precautionary measure and avoid any untoward incident.
Srinagar wore a deserted look as there was hardly any vehicular traffic on the roads. Security forces were deployed in strength to prevent any untoward incident.
