Recruitment of forest inspectors fair and transparent: Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 701 newly selected forest inspectors through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC).
Over 10 lakh students, out of 66 lakh registered for the Uttar Pradesh board examinations, have reportedly failed to appear in state tests in the last four days. As per media reports, the dropout rate is twice the previous year (2017), when around 5 lakh chose to not appear for the examinations.
In the wake of the reports, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised on the need of making examinations easier as a fear of exams has been created among students.
The sharp dip in the figure comes in the wake of steps taken by the Uttar Pradesh government against the education mafia that aid in the use of unfair means.

“When we said let’s conduct a cheating-free exam (then) 10 lakhs students dropped out. This is the figure until now. I don’t know what will happen in future,” Adityanath said speaking at the book launch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Exam Warrior’ in its Hindi version.
“A fear of exams is being created among students. We are observing and we will not leave it at this. It is necessary to think on how exams could be further simplified,” he added.
On the first day of exams, more than 1.8 lakh students did not appear for the examinations.
“It included over 53,100 high schools and over 1.27 lakh intermediate students,” said, Deputy Director Education Vikas Srivastava on Wednesday.
This is seen as an outcome of the tight screening and anti-copying measures implemented by the government which had vowed to ensure there was no copying this year.
