Nurturing Green, Clean & Green Drive was on Friday launched by Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel at Huda City Centre Metro Station, Gurgaon.
Goel also launched the O2 Chamber at the Nurturing Green Studio and about 1,000 saplings were distributed and 500 were planted by the people.
Annu Grover, Managing Director, Nurturing Green said, “We are pleased to see the response and the warmth people have shown for the drive. It’s just a humble beginning of a great future; a future full of fresh air and healthy breathing. I feel proud to say that at Nurturing Green, we are committed to educating people about the measures of protecting the environment through self-initiative and motivating them with sharing the benefits of green nature, the ultimate need of every healthy and prosperous society.”
Goel said, “I congratulate Annu Grover and his team for this wonderful initiative. Also I am very happy to see how school kids are participating. I request everyone to plant at least three trees or plants in a year that will help in saving our environment.”
Mangu Singh, Managing Director DMRC said, “Pollution, Climate Change and Energy Crisis are the major concerns in today’s era. We are forgetting our basic fundamentals and adopting new technologies that are harming our environment. DMRC has always been an environment conscious body and we got very much inspired from the concept of Nurturing green and glad to be a part of this occasion today.”
The various activities organised by Delhi Metro in recent days were observance of Sewa Diwas, Samagra Swachhata Diwas and Sarvatra Swachhata Diwas which included extensive cleaning at all its premises and guiding/counselling general public to abstain from defacing metro property. DMRC also organised many nukkad nataks at major stations highlighting the importance of cleanliness.
