WBCHSE urges SEC to relieve examiners from poll duty
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has asked the state election commission to relieve the head examiners…
There is a good news for all the BPUT registered examiners as the university is clearing backlog payments due to them for having evaluated answer sheets.
The arrear payment had caused much resentment among professors and lecturers. “The university has started clearing all our dues of the last two years and I am really happy for that,” said a faculty of a management college here. Similar sentiments are being expressed from teachers in other colleges.

Another faculty at Bhubaneswar said, “That is a big amount I received and it really helped me when I was very much in need of it.” There was a backlog of payments of two years. “This is among my top priorities because I cannot keep the faculties dissatisfied because without their help the university schedule cannot run on time,” said V-C BPUT Chitta Ranjan Tripathy.

“This we are doing because we want to be transparent so that a faculty or an examiner come to know where his or her payment status is and there will be no unnecessary enquiry with us,” the V-C added.
Besides, this the university has also undertaken another initiative to bring in fairness in examination. “To stop impersonation we have printed the photograph of individual student appearing in the examination,” informed Tripathy.
“We are going to start a biometric system on each of the computers used for evaluation where the finger of a particular teacher will be registered for a particular subject,” said the V-C.
Earlier, there were complaints galore in this regard. In another effort the whole academic record of the student will be uploaded in the website with the student getting a log in password.
“Along with student and principal we will have a public log in, which anyone can do, if he has the student’s registration number,” informed Tripathy. This is being done so that the parents can know every bit of student’s academic performance.
Earlier, in many instances, students would come and create a ruckus, because they were not given their degree certificate after clearing the final semester.
“Whereas the same student had back papers in other semester/s,” informed the V-C. Similarly, once the final certificates are issued to the colleges, it will be uploaded in the university website.
