Former chief minister and leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal on Monday said the BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) would form government in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat by clear majority.
Talking to mediapersons at his residence in Hamirpur, Dhumal, who is BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, said after coming into power, the BJP government would work towards restoring law and order in the state. “We will create a better mechanism for women safety.”
He said the BJP government would take stringent steps to curb rampant corruption in HP. He said that efforts would also be made to end mafias which flourished under the Congress rule.Dhumal expressed concern over drug mafia spreading wings in the state, which has resulted in youth falling prey to the menace. He said on coming into power, the BJP government would end illegal drug smuggling to protect the future generations from this social evil.

“Various steps to curb the drug smuggling rackets would be initiated on war footing forming government in Himachal Pradesh,” he said.
The former chief minister said the development works which has been stalled during the Congress regime would be restarted with the help of Central government.
“Himachal will once again tread on the development path with the government implementing all central projects on time and this would lead to generation of employment opportunities for the youth of the state,” he said.
