Cops make no headway in car-lifting cases

The police in Angul remains clueless on a gang which specialises in car lifting. Two days ago they had struck on the Talcher-Angul road and waylaid a driver and took his car.

Incidents of car lifting has worried vehicle owners of Talcher and Angul area.

According to police, on Sunday night at about 11 pm one Puspahas Dhir of Talcher working in the state mining department was returning from Angul after dropping one of his friends at the bus terminus.

A vehicle was parked on Kurudole bridge blocking the road. Dhir stopped his car and got down to find out what had happened when two gun totting men came from nowhere and put something on him that made his unconscious.

He regained his senses at 3 am to find that his car, mobile phone and cash had been stolen.

IIC Gitanjali Sahu of Nalco police station said that police finds it difficult to advance in the investigation as the man was changing his statements. We are trying to trace the culprit as soon as possible ‘’said Sahu .
