Amritsar govt school gets ‘mathematical park’

To help school students learn mathematics in easier way, a mathematical park has been constructed at Government High School Devidaspura in Amritsar.

Besides three dimensional (3D) structures of diagrams (circle, cone, angle, triangle, square, cylinder ,cube etc), with their formulas, 26 pencil shaped pillars have also been constructed around the park with tables written on them.

The principal of the school, Balbir Singh said the mathematical park has made it easy for students  to understand the subject and Those diagram which were quite problematic for students to understand, now they are no more difficult, he said adding that students of the primary class are often seen learning tables while playing in recess.

The park was constructed under the government’s job guarantee scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA)  This project was initiated and completed by then Block Development Panchayat Officer (Jandiala Guru) Jeenat Khehra with the expenditure of about Rs 10 lakh.
