Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rejected allegations that the deaths of the children in the BRD Medical College was due to the lack of oxygen supply.
Addressing an event in Lucknow on Saturday, the UP CM said that if oxygen supply was indeed the problem, then children on ventilator would have died first. He blamed internal politics behind the news.
“Last year there were reports that infants had died at the BRD medical college in Gorakhpur due to lack of oxygen supply. If there was shortage of oxygen then children on ventilator would have died first,” he said.

“I visited the hospital and found that it was a result of internal politics at the medical college. After this incident we had to counsel the doctors to deal with this issue,” he said.
Adityanath said after becoming the MP from Gorakhpur, he was the first to raise the issue of Japanese encephalitis in the Parliament.
